How to build a PITCH DECK

When you start talking to investors you'll be asked to present/pitch your startup. Your pitch deck is the slide deck you use when delivering your pitch.

Many investors will ask you to send over your pitch deck prior to meeting with them and it's therefore important that your deck leaves a good first impression of you and your startup.

You should ideally create two versions of your deck; one version that you use when you are presenting to investors (less text and more visual) and another version you can send to investors that has a bit more text so it makes the deck somewhat self-explanatory.

You should expect that investors will share your pitch deck with their contacts and it could potentially end up in the hands of your competitors, so be careful not reveal any confidential information in the deck.

Instead of starting from a blank slate in Power Point or Keynote I suggest you search for "Pitch Deck" on Canva.com and use one of their templates.

If you'd like some feedback/help to refine your pitch you're always welcome to reach out: [email protected]

Good luck!

Key slides you need to include in your deck:

Slide 1: Vision / Elevator Pitch

Slide 2: The Problem

Slide 3: Product / Service

Slide 4: Market Opportunity

Slide 5: Traction / Validation

Slide 6: Revenue Model

Slide 7: Competition

Slide 8: Marketing & Growth strategy

Slide 9: Team

Slide 10: Financials

Slide 11: Investment ‘Ask’ / milestones
